​Kimberly L. Brunt, Ph.D., HSPP, is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Indiana. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychology at Purdue University Northwest. Throughout her 20 plus years in the field of psychology, Dr. Brunt has served as a therapist, consultant, professor, mentor, and researcher. In all those endeavors, her primary focus is to use the art and science of psychology to improve the lives of her patients, students, and colleagues. 
Dr. Brunt has successfully treated many individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism, and trauma-related disorders. She has assisted an array of patients ranging in age from infancy to older adulthood via psychological testing and assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy using evidence-based psychological treatments that include motivational interviewing, mindfulness techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP). In working collaboratively with patients and their families to identify clear treatment goals, she builds trusting and supportive therapeutic relationships. Dr. Brunt fosters healing and resiliency by encouraging improved problem-solving skills, emotional regulation skills, and social/relationship skills. ​
Beyond her clinical and teaching experience, Dr. Brunt has provided educational presentations to other mental health professionals, schools, non-profit agencies, and the general public on topics such as anxiety in childhood and adolescence, bipolar disorder in children, autism spectrum disorders, diagnosis and treatment planning, and ethics in clinical practice.
Dr. Brunt received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1996 from Finch University of Health Sciences/ The Chicago Medical School (Now named Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science) where she conducted research in clinical/health and pediatric psychology. She completed an American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Internship in Pediatric Psychology at La Rabida Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL in 1994-95. Following her Internship, Dr. Brunt worked as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist for 20 years at Porter Starke Services at three locations in Porter County, Indiana.
