Value of Treatment

We believe each patient should receive value for his/her money spent in treatment. As such, by having experienced therapists provide research-based treatments as out-of-network services, we maximize your treatment success while allowing you to spent less out-of-pocking in the long run.

Cost Effectiveness of CBT

While it is well established that evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the gold standard for treating symptoms of anxiety and depression, recent studies have emphasized the cost-effectiveness of engaging in evidence-based treatments such as CBT compared to other types of treatment, including medications. For example, in a recent study by Kaiser Permanente, it was found that depression-related healthcare costs for adolescents who received CBT were about $5000 less on average than depressed adolescents who received usual care (i.e., medications, inpatient and outpatient services, social services) without CBT.

Why Choose Out-of-Network Providers

Do not let the term 'out-of-network' scare you. By choosing us, you are choosing quality services that are often not found with in-network providers. Without following insurance company's rules and regulations, you and your therapist are free to experience treatment the way it is intended and still be reimbursed by your insurance company per your out-of-network rates. This means when clinically warranted, you can have longer, more frequent, or greater number of sessions, participate in out-of-office sessions (e.g., in your home or in real-life settings), or receive treatment online without being told "no" by your insurance company. By receiving the proper 'dose' of treatment, patients can complete therapy in an appropriate time and enjoy prolonged symptom remission, thus cutting down on long-term costs. And if you choose not to be reimbursed at all and not involve any third parties in billing or paperwork, you can ensure accuracy, privacy, anonymity, and confidentiality of your health information.

Maximize treatment success while spending less in the long run

How Do I Get Reimbursed by My Insurance Company?

Call your out-of-network mental health benefits prior to starting treatment. You can find a claim form on your insurance company's website and submit the form along with your statement and treatment codes as frequently as you wish. You will be reimbursed directly by your insurance company per the terms of your insurance policy. We will send a statement to your patient portal as often as twice a month if you attend sessions weekly.
We are not responsible for any successful or unsuccessful reimbursements as this is considered a matter between you and your insurance company. If you have any questions about billing, please discuss your concerns directly with our business manager. Please discuss any questions about reimbursement with your insurance company.

Telehealth and Insurance

Insurance coverage for telehealth is typically different from face-to-face outpatient mental health services. Please do check with your insurance company regarding reimbursement of telehealth appointments.

Cancellations / No Show Policy

The session fee is charged for no shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. Charges for missed appointments are usually not covered by insurance and are your responsibility. Your credit card on file will be charged for the missed session unless an alternative, prompt arrangement is made and the fee is collected.

Fee Schedule

We have identified a fee schedule that takes into account factors such as the national standard, regional psychotherapy rates, and the specialty service being provided.
All fees are prorated in 15 minute increments for services of lesser or greater time, including therapy time, report writing or documentation (e.g., for school, employer, etc.), travel time (e.g., home and community-based treatments), and professional consultation (e.g., with school, psychiatrist, etc.).
Payments are to be collected at the time of service.
Our preferred payment method is ACH Direct Payment as it is convenient (No more forgetting to bring cash/check!), easy, and secure.

Payment may also be made by check, cash, debit card, health saving account (HSA), or major credit card.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care will cost.
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
  • Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your psychotherapy service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
